Alka Mukne is Head, Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry Department of Bombay College of Pharmacy. A Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Mumbai University, she has over two and a half decades of teaching & research experience in the areas of standardization, evaluation & formulation development of herbal drugs as antimicrobial & antitubercular medicines, chemotherapeutic agents and nutraceuticals. Dr. Mukne has over 30 publications & presentations and 1 patent to her credit & has been honored with multiple awards and recognitions. She is the Founder Co-ordinator of the Mumbai Chapter of Society for Ethnopharmacology. As Hon. Editor of Pharma Times, the official publication of Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) since 2010, she has been responsible for publishing the monthly newsmagazine that features contemporary write-ups and news updates for professionals from the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory and academia.
